Empire Auto Service (formally Empire Tire & Auto) has been operating and servicing Saskatoon and area for over 25 years.  Derrick purchased Empire in 2007 and his wife, Nicole, joined the team at the same time.
 
Derrick was born and raised in Saskatoon.  His family has lived and worked in the Saskatoon area for 3 generations.  After Derrick graduated from high school, he went straight into the Automotive industry.  You could even say he has been "working" in the industry since a small boy.  Derrick would help his dad, who was an Engine builder, raced cars and help with car projects.  This is how he learned attention to detail, focus and precision skills.  Also, Derrick always guides and advises what is best for people, wither it is a customer, staff member or colleague.  He learned his understanding, compassion and patience from his mom who, before her retirement, work as a teacher's aid with special needs students for over 40 years.  Derrick started his career working for a small automotive repair shop, to a dealership and also the bigger franchises. He now has over 20 years in the industry.

Nicole, a small "town" girl, moved to Saskatoon to attend the U of S for an education in Commerce, focusing on Finance and Accounting.  Nicole gets this interest in details and numbers from her mother who owns a bookkeeping company.  Nicole runs the day to day operations of the shop by keeping everything on top during busy and hectic times.  She learns to keep things rolling under pressure from her father, who before retirement, was a fire fighter.  What should have been a career in banking, now has been a careering in the Automotive industry for over 10 years.
